The Bitcoin Halving will occur on May 12, 2020.

What is the Bitcoin Halving?
Every 10 minutes a new Bitcoin block is generated and propagated to the Bitcoin network. Every new block contains an amount of new bitcoin. At the beginning of the Bitcoin history every block contains 50 new bitcoin. Every four years this number is cut in half and the day iled “halving” day.
The first halving occurred in 2012, reducing the number of new bitcoin to 25. In 2016 the number dropped from 25 to 12,5 and in few weeks the number will drop from 12,5 to 6,25.

When the Bitcoin Halving is scheduled?
The Bitcoin halving is not scheduled by date (4 years) but in block height.
The halving happens every 210.000 blocks and the next halving will happen on block 630.000. The 2024 halving will happen at block 840.000. Since ecery block is generated on average in 10 minutes, we can estimate the day the halving will occur.
